This exclusive Sushimerolln × TZ Knives Yanagiba collaboration was born from a shared obsession with Sushi, fishing, and high quality craftsmanshsip.
The project began when Michael Friedrich of Sushimerolln SD approached TZ Knives with a clear vision: create a true, uncompromising Japanese single-bevel sushi blade, built the right way, by the right hands, with zero shortcuts. This required us to think outside of the box a little.
Each blade was hand-forged from White Steel #2 by a 5th-generation master bladesmith just outside Nagoya, Japan. From there, the unfinished blades were sent to our San Diego workshop, where each knife received its final transformation—custom handle crafting, finishing, and inspection by TZ Knives.
No two knives are identical. Every blade in this collaboration is individually forged and finished making each piece a rare work of functional art, built to be used, not displayed.
This is an extremely small batch release. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
