TITANOX is our proprietary process of coating high carbon stainless steel in Titanium, designed to drastically improve edge retention, corrosion resistance, and durability while maintaining the perfect amount flexibility. It also has antimicrobial properties reducing bacteria build up by 99%. This superior blade material was developed in collaboration with top metallurgists around the world, and given the name TITANOX alluding to the raw materials used (Titanium Inox) as well as its founders name, Titan Zeus.

In Addition to its incredible performance, the TITANOX™ finish is unique in the sense that it holds a dark finish that becomes reflective under the right lighting. Whether you're chopping up acidic food or accidentally forgot to dry it off after running it under water, this finish will never stain, rust, or deteriorate. TITANOX™ truly is designed for the everyday kitchen and can withstand the abuse that comes with it.

Steel:

Most similar to the Japanese Steel VG10, our steel is distinguished by its precise chemical composition, which is engineered to enhance its physical properties. The typical composition is as follows.

Carbon (C): Approximately 1.0%, which provides hardness and edge retention.

Chromium (Cr): Around 15.0%, contributing to outstanding corrosion resistance and toughness.

Molybdenum (Mo) and Vanadium (V): Around 1.0% each, these elements improve the steel’s strength, hardness, and ability to resist wear and tear.

Cobalt (Co): Usually around 1.5%, enhancing the steel’s overall structural integrity and performance.

Other elements such as Manganese (Mn), Silicon (Si), and Phosphorus (P) are present in smaller amounts to refine the steel’s grain structure and enhance its forging capabilities.

Titanium Coating:

Titanium nitride coatings improve the surface properties of steel making it harder, more durable, and more resistant to wear and corrosion. The added benefit of Titanium Nitride is its antimicrobial properties which reduce bacteria by 99%.Titanium coatings on steel can be antibacterial due to the titanium dioxide (TiO2) in the coating or the addition of silver nanoparticles. These coatings can kill bacteria and prevent the spread of infections.
